Pick Huntr if you are past the sending stage. Once you have live conversations with a dozen companies, each at a different stage with different follow-ups owed, an autofill tool is solving a problem you no longer have. You need the board.
Pick Simplify if you are still in the sending stage. When the daily work is thirty near-identical Workday forms, the tracker is a rounding error against the typing, and Simplify attacks the part that actually hurts.
The reason this matchup gets searched so often is that most searches pass through both stages, heavy sending first and heavy tracking later, and people resent buying two tools to cover one job search. Simplify, at the start. New-grad searches are volume searches, often into large enterprise ATS pipelines, and reducing the per-application cost matters more than organisation for the first few hundred. That reverses once interviews start.
It is a widely used tool with a published privacy policy, and the reasonable question is not whether the company is legitimate but what any autofill tool needs to store to work: your contact details, work history and answers to standard screening questions. Read the policy of whichever you choose and check whether the profile is stored locally or on their servers.
Not in the way Simplify does. Huntr's extension is built to save a posting into your board rather than to complete the employer's form for you. If autofill is the requirement, Huntr is the wrong tool to be evaluating.
